Archive a team
When a team is no longer needed, you archive it. The content is kept, and the team is still closed.
Open Lifecycle
In the detail view of the team, open the Lifecycle section and click Archive next to Archive.
Check the actions
Under Actions, Seamless shows what happens immediately after confirmation, for example: "The workspace is marked as closed in the Seamless app."
Archive
Click Archive workspace. Use Cancel to cancel.
You can also archive a team during the review.
What can happen when archiving
Your IT decides per template which actions are run. Possible actions are:
| Action | What happens |
|---|---|
| Remove guests | All guests lose access to the team. |
| Remove members | All members are removed from the team. |
| Hide from Outlook | The email address of the team no longer appears in the address book. |
| Mark as closed | The team appears grey in the Seamless app with the lifecycle Closed. |
| Archive team | The team is archived in Microsoft Teams. The content stays readable. |
| Make sites read only | The SharePoint site and the sites of the private channels can only be read. |
| Remove version history | Older versions of documents are deleted. |
| Empty recycle bin | Deleted files are removed permanently. |
| Replace owner | A person chosen by your IT becomes owner of the team. |

Deleting the version history and emptying the recycle bin can't be undone.
Your IT decides whether you can archive a team yourself. If Archive is missing in the lifecycle, contact your IT.
