Introduction
Seamless keeps Microsoft 365 in order: teams, SharePoint sites and guests follow clear rules, from creation to archiving. You decide whether and how much your users take part, because you can use Seamless in two ways:
1. Admin Center only (in the background)
IT works in the background. Users work in Microsoft Teams as usual and notice little of Seamless.
- You define templates and guest templates with the rules.
- You assign existing teams and guests to a template in Manage, including many at once.
- Guests invited directly in Microsoft 365 automatically get the default template.
- The jobs regularly check owners, names, reviews and inactive guests. Seamless detects deviations from the template immediately.
- You create new teams yourself in the Admin Center or automatically through the API, for example from your ERP.
This fits if IT wants to stay in control or wants to introduce Seamless first without any impact on users.
2. Together with your users (recommended)
Users help keep things in order and follow processes. They use the Seamless app in Microsoft Teams for this. The app is available in German, English, French and Italian.
- Users request new teams and sites with the templates you make available.
- Users invite guests and look after them as the responsible person.
- Responsible persons review their teams and guests themselves at fixed intervals.
- Approvals go through requests when a template requires it.
This takes load off IT. Responsibility lies with the people who know the teams and guests.
Comparison
| Admin Center only | Together with your users | |
|---|---|---|
| Who works with Seamless | IT | IT and users |
| New teams | IT creates them, in the Admin Center or through the API | Users request them in the Seamless app |
| Inviting guests | As before in Microsoft 365, with the default template | In the Seamless app, with a guest template |
| Reviews | IT does them in the Admin Center | Responsible persons do them in the Seamless app |
| Enforcing rules | Seamless, automatically | Seamless, automatically |
You don't have to decide for good. Many customers start with the Admin Center only and bring users in step by step later. You define what users can do in the app per template, for example under App and in the app settings.
