Actions
With actions you extend Seamless with your own processes. An action appears in the Admin Center as an entry in the menu. You run it for a single guest or for several guests at once. Seamless then sends the details of each guest to your system, for example to an Azure Logic App, and your system does the rest.
An example: the action Update details sends selected guests an email with a link to the guest portal, where they complete their details in Microsoft Entra ID.
You find the actions in the Admin Center under Guests > Actions. Actions for teams work the same way: Actions for Teams & Sites
Create an action
Prepare the process
In your system, create a process that accepts a request via HTTP POST, for example a Logic App with the trigger When a HTTP request is received. You find an example under Webhooks.
Add the action
Create a new action under Guests > Actions and fill in the fields.
Save
Save the action. If it is active, it appears in the menu.
Fields
| Field | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Title in the dialog shown when running the action | Update details |
| Active | Turns the action on or off | On |
| Label | Text in the menu | Update details |
| Description | Text in the confirmation dialog. Describe what the action triggers. | The guest receives an email with a link to the guest portal. |
| Endpoint URL | Address Seamless sends the request to via POST | URL of the Logic App |
| Secret | Optional: secret your system uses to verify that the request comes from Seamless | |
| Name (fields) | Details about the guest that Seamless sends to your system | User id, Mail |
| Portal link | Seamless creates a personal link to the guest portal and sends it along | On |
Use Copy schema value to copy the schema of the request. In a Logic App, paste it in the trigger under Request Body JSON Schema, and the details are available in the following steps.
Run an action
- Open Guests > Manage.
- Select a guest or mark several guests.
- Select the action in the menu and confirm.
Seamless sends a request to your system for each guest.
You can see whether the requests have arrived under Monitoring > Webhooks.
