Example: Inactive guest
In this example, an Azure Logic App informs inactive guests with your own email. It explains your company's rules and states the dates on which access will be blocked and deleted.
Prerequisite
You need a Logic App in Azure. Microsoft shows how to create one here: Create a Logic App workflow in the Azure portal ↗ (opens in a new tab)
Setup
Create the workflow
The workflow has three steps:
- When a HTTP request is received: receives the notification from Seamless
- Get user: reads the guest's details
- Send an email (V2): sends the email
Set up the trigger
Start with the trigger When a HTTP request is received. It creates an address to which Seamless sends the notification. After saving, you can see the address under HTTP URL.
Read the guest
Add the step Get user and pass userId from the notification. The step returns the guest's details, for example name and email address.
Send the email
Add the step Send an email (V2). Use the guest's details in the text and use functions to calculate the dates for blocking and deletion, based on today's date and the days in your guest template.
Connect to Seamless
- In the Admin Center, open Guests > Templates and edit the guest template.
- Open the Lifecycle tab and go to Inactive guests.
- Under Extend with custom automation, copy the HTTP URL from the trigger into Notification endpoint.
- Click Save.
Test
- Check that a test guest has this guest template and counts as inactive.
- Open Monitoring > Jobs and click Reset next to Reset all users status.
- Click Run now for the job Inactive guests.
Check the delivery
Under Monitoring > Webhooks you can see whether the notification arrived and what the Logic App responded. Details: Monitoring > Webhooks
