Actions

With actions you extend Seamless with your own workflows. An action appears in the Admin Center as an entry in the menu. You run it for a single team or for multiple teams at once. Seamless then sends the details of each team to your system, for example to an Azure Logic App, and your system does the rest.

An example: the action Close project in ERP reports selected project teams to your ERP.

You find the actions in the Admin Center under Groups > Actions. Actions for guests work the same way: Actions for guests

Create an action

Prepare the workflow

In your system, create a workflow that accepts a request via HTTP POST, for example a Logic App with the trigger When a HTTP request is received. You find an example under Webhooks.

Add the action

Under Groups > Actions, create a new action and fill in the fields.

Save

Save the action. Once it's active, it appears in the menu.

Fields

FieldDescription
NameTitle in the dialog that appears when you run it
ActiveTurns the action on or off
LabelText in the menu
DescriptionText in the confirmation dialog. Describe what the action triggers.
Endpoint URLAddress Seamless sends the request to via POST
SecretOptional: secret your system uses to check that the request comes from Seamless
Name (fields)Details Seamless sends to your system

Use Copy schema value to copy the schema of the request. In a Logic App, paste it into the trigger under Request Body JSON Schema, and the details are then available in the following steps.

Run an action

  1. Open Groups > Manage.
  2. Select a team or select multiple teams.
  3. Choose the action in the menu and confirm.

Seamless sends a request to your system for each team.

You can see whether the requests arrived under Monitoring > Webhooks.
