Template
You always create a template in an organisation. As an example, we create the template Project in the organisation Contoso.
Create a template
Open the organisation
In the Admin Center, open Groups > Templates and click the pencil icon next to the organisation Contoso.
Add a new template
Under Templates, click Add template.
Enter the basic details
In the first tab, General, you enter the basic details of the template:
| Field | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Name of the template as users see it in the app. | Project |
| Description | Helps users understand when to use this template. | For projects with customers and external guests |
| Identifier | Unique ID for the API. Lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens only, starting with a letter. | prj |
| Availability | Where the template is available: in the app, via the API, both or hidden. Hidden suits old templates that are still in use. | App & API |
| Audience | By default, the template is available to all users. Use Limit to selected groups to restrict it to specific groups. | All users |
Fill in the other tabs
Use Next and Back to move between the tabs. The following pages show what to set in each tab, starting with Approval.
Save
Click Save. The template appears in the organisation's list. If it is available in the app, users can use it to request new teams in the Seamless app in Microsoft Teams.
You can change all settings later at any time.
