Planner templates
With Planner templates you provide plans with prepared buckets and tasks. Users use them to create new plans in the Seamless app in Microsoft Teams, and all projects follow the same process.
A Planner template is an existing plan in Microsoft Planner. Seamless copies it when a user creates a new plan.
You find the Planner templates in the Admin Center under Groups > Planner.
Create a Planner template
Prepare the plan
In Microsoft Planner, create a plan with the buckets and tasks you want, for example the plan Customer project with the buckets Start, Implementation and Close-out. It's best to keep all templates in a separate group, for example 00001 Templates.
Add the template
In the Admin Center under Groups > Planner, click Add template.
Fill in the fields
| Field | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Group | Group that contains the plan | 00001 Templates |
| Plan | The plan that serves as the template | Customer project |
| Description | Helps users choose the right template | For customer projects, from start to close-out |
| Availability | Where the template is available: Not available, Global for all organisations or Selected organisations for selected organisations | Global |
Save
Click Save. The template is available to users in the Seamless app straight away.
If you change the plan in Microsoft Planner, the change applies to all new plans. Existing plans stay as they are.
Overview
