Guest templates
A guest template represents a type of guest, for example customers, suppliers or consultants. It defines how guests are invited, which details are collected, what happens with open invitations and inactivity, and what users may do with their guests.
In all examples we create the guest template Suppliers for long-term partners. Guests from this template are later named, for example, Anna Muster (Fabrikam).
The settings
A guest template is split into tabs. Each tab has its own page:
| Page | Content |
|---|---|
| Template | Create the template: name, description, audience and identifier |
| Approval | Whether and by whom invitations are approved |
| Naming convention | Collected details and structure of the display name |
| Invitation | Invitation email, language, personal message and redirection |
| Lifecycle | Pending invitations, inactive guests and review |
| App | What users may do with their guests in the Seamless app |
Use the default template to define which template applies to guests invited directly in Microsoft 365.
