Organisation
Organisations represent the structure of your company and hold team templates for individual use cases. You can configure tailored governance policies for team creation, archiving, and user self-service to ensure a well-structured and tidy Microsoft Teams environment across the organisation.
To enable team creation for users in the Seamless Teams app, ensure there is at least one organisation with an active template.
Create new organisation
Where to start?
- In the admin center, navigate to Team governance > Organisations.
- To create a new organisation, click Add organisation.
- The organisation settings will be displayed.

Choose a name
In the form, select the name of the organization, division, department, business unit, branch, or similar entity. This name will be visible to users in the Teams app and can be changed at any time.
Control availability
By default, organisations are accessible to all users in the Seamless app. If the toggle is active without a group assigned (Requires Entra P1), the organisation will be hidden in the app.
Entra ID P1 feature
To limit access to an organisation to specific users, select the group in
the field and make sure that the same group is assigned to users and groups
in the Enterprise Application Seamless Teams in Entra.
Identifier
If you are integrating with the Seamless API, you can enter a unique identifier for this organisation here. It must start with a letter, end with a letter or number, and contain only lowercase letters, numbers, and dashes.
